Why You Don’t Need to Wait 3-5 Days Between Offering New Foods to Your Baby
#441: You do not need to wait 3-5 days between offering new foods to your baby. In fact, waiting that long can actually slow down your baby’s progress and prevent diet diversity. In this episode we look at the research that supports quicker introduction of new foods; it is safe to offer 1 (or more) new food(s) per day and this approach can help reduce the risk of severe picky eating and help your baby learn to safely eat and like real food.
Listen to this episode to learn:
1. Why waiting 3-5 days between new foods can slow down your baby’s progress
2. How to safely offer 1 (or more) new food(s) per day…and why this is safe

Day in the Life Feeding a 6 Month Baby (Meals, Schedules, Milk Feeds)
Please more simple recipes. I will try the super easy muffins for my baby. I hope he loves it ❤
What's the patty mix in pan?
Whats the brand of this mix. When you have picky eaters you have to find ways to incorporate veggies into their diet. Note - never force feed them, or make them sit and eat them til they trow up. That there to the Complainers in the comments is wrong. CLEARLY SHES DOING THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR HER BABY!
Please reconsider your pans with non stick coating. They are full of chemicals
It's OK if they sit in the feeding chair properly they don't need to be able to sit down themselves. Don't confuse people.
That's gonna be a no from me dog. Before parents had the Internet telling us what to do, I seriously doubt ancient peoples were strapping their babies to a plastic highchair with straps, stressfully watching them turn beet red with tears streaming down their faces, taking cpr courses, and using an app telling them to cut their kiwi in dang stars or rectangles based on age. Everything about these poor babies struggling feels so wrong to my mama instinct! Maybe they have such a gag reflex for a reason. Not to mention the idea that its "normal" in BLW for undigested food to pass into the diaper, whereas there is research linking undigested foods with gut permeability in adults. Only speaking for myself here! But to me personally something about this feels like a fad and feels wrong.
I’m the 90s, my moms doctor said breast milk was enough until 12 months.
Sooo seasonings are okay? Or do we introduce one by one? I don’t want to give my son plain chicken.. it’s sounds disgusting 🤢
Thanks. Very informative video. 👌
The only one that scares me is chicken/beef. I don’t think I could gum chicken no matter how it’s cooked. The soft fruits / veg you don’t need teeth for.
my baby is 4 1/2 months and is sitting independently. You didnt discuss early developers in this as it relates to the 6 month guidelines.
Please please please dont store avocado in water, especially if you're giving it to your baby. Storing them in water can promote bacteria growth like botulism
Please help me! I took your free workshop and am trying baby led weaning since the past two weeks but my baby starts crying after having only one spoon. Am i doing something wrong?
Great channel, congratulations and thank you for help so many families with this topic! Blessings 🙏🏻🤗❤️
I have started with solid food with 6 months... but by feeding spoon... now my baby is 9 months and i want her finally to start feeding herself. Shall i follow the same steps as for 6 months? Or what are the instructions? Thank you.
If gagging on food still scares you, I hope this video can help you out: ruclips.net/video/YBFoREG31yA/видео.htmlsi=a6sNZ-4izHBJSPlM
I would c**p my pants to see this! I am on baby #2 doing BLW and both had/have much less scary gags, just opening of the mouth for a second followed by chewing of the food that came back (don’t want it to go to waste!)
My baby gags so much when blw how to avoid it She just wants to put all the thing into her mouth resulting in chocking like gagging
How old should my baby be to give this ?!
Very hard to follow with no transcript and video markers
BLWSAUCE
This is for baby-led weaning though. Please specify this in your video. It seems to be for all babies. We've been advised by a nurse that solids are fine if baby is showing interest in foods but not before 4 months. If parents decide to spoon-feed, they don't have to sit-up on their own before starting solids -- it's also because some babies may not even sit up on their own until 8-9 months. The whole point of starting solids is to start teaching baby to eat and help with their iron.
My baby boy works last week he is now 8 months 10 days He started sitting in 4 months
I am so excited to start the BLW journey with my little. She's only 4 months but I like to be prepared and do research well ahead of time and your channel is so perfect. Especially the start here option!!!
I nursed and did blw and let me tell you I will never look back!, on my 5th baby now!
I know you really preach the “feet flat on a solid surface” for safe swallowing. I have tried to do several things to give my daughter a good foot rest, but she refuses to keep her feet on it. She prefers to slide her feet around on the footrest or pull them up and swing them. What do I do?
I wasn't able to make the footrest work either but it hasn't been an issue for us. Maybe stabilize her feet for her when you notice her gagging so she gets used to that association.
I nursed my kids. At 6 weeks I started pumping into bottles for certain feedings. When they could hold their bottle I gave them soft tipped sippy cups. By 10 months they were drinking from regular cups. Once they were old enough to grab food from my plate I fed them everything we ate by grinding it in a baby food grinder, then chopped the food, then cutting it in chunks. By the time their teeth came in they could handle a whole pear, slice of pizza, or drumstick by themselves. Like animals, children gain experience at lightening speeds as a matter of survival of the fittest. We have been taught that you should put kids in diapers for 3yr, feed them expensive, disgusting, processed baby foods for years. Let your kids set their progress as they are able and feed them Whole Foods that are natural and healthy.
I first follow with 3 day pattern means giving same food for 3 days now landed at your video can i start with your 10 best foods ? he is 6 + 10 days thanks
What if you add liquid vitamins for babies ?
Eat grass fed beef and fat and wake up to the matrix of lies
Informative
Im afraid to give my daughter beef liver because it’s disgusting! 😆
Will try, cus my baby spat out just plain black beans
I've always heard that babies should not be eating meat before they are 1 year old. I'm not sure if that has a basis in anything or if that's just a rumour someone started and everyone repeated
Oh , so cool , I started 6 month and 10 days as then I felt she was ready but I was feeling bad and worrying for postponing it
This is totally wrong ! Some babies can’t sit up straight even until 8 months so a 8 month baby can’t just rely on breast milk past 6 months babies iron and other nutrients requirements are more unfortunately BM doesn’t make that much after 6 months so starting solids is like a top up to boost up nutrients! Just make the baby sit on your lap upright position or even try high chair with proper support and start feeding little by little ! Ofc watch if baby is showing interest in food while u eat etc never force feed , look for allergies and bloating symptoms! Always consult your paediatrician! And mommies follow your own gut feeling and instincts no one knows your baby better than you do!
That's such a bizarre thing to see. My son is 16 months old and he's never acted like that in his low chair. Sometimes it will take him 45 minutes to eat dinner and he genuinely enjoys his meal times. I never let him get overly hungry, If I'm making dinner and he tells me he's hungry I just give him a snack while I'm finishing cooking.
Qu’ils sont tous magnifiques 🙏J’adore💋
That's not nice, she just a baby , if you have time to be on your cell watching her cry, just grab her and calm her down.
selling open cups!!!!! you dont need to buy those. Also you can give your child fluid any way you like....they just need fluid.
lol what?
Do not wirry that baby will grow up set walk run in due time just enjoy them now hold love them

Oh.. my.. god, I stress out whenever my baby daughter doesn’t want to finish her food and I keep feeling guilty. This video really helped me to feel better 😭❤️

Thank you very much for ur videos and information! I give my 9-mo baby plain yogurt from cows milk, (done at home)she loves it and she is not allergic at all, never tried almond milk. I think it is ok if no problem with baby?
Baby led weening is the BEST!!
